Careers: Years 9-11
St. Bernard's offers an extensive careers development program, in addition to individual assistance provided to VCE students.

If you are in Year 9, you have the opportunity to:
- Learn about resumes, interview skills, and the employment market in your economics classes.
- Do a careers interest profile.
- See Mr Rosel to organise your work experience placement for next year.
- Visit a careers expo. Maybe even go to a University Open Day just to get an idea of what a university looks like!
- Consider a part-time job. The best place to learn about working is having a job yourself!
- Encourage mum or dad to attend the Parents and Careers workshops.
- Ask family and friends about their jobs.
If you are in Year 10, you must:
- Complete a Careers Interest Profile.
- Participate in a Subject Selection/pathways workshop.
- Complete a VTAC review of tertiary courses.
- Undertake your work placement.
- Review the Job Guide.
- Attend Careers Expos and University and TAFE Open Days.
- Consider other study options at school such as VET or VCAL.
- Attend subject selection evening.
If you are in Year 11, you will:
- Complete the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
- Take part in an MBTI workshop.
- Complete a VTAC tertiary pre-requisite exercise.
- Visit the careers room to review relevant resource material.
- Make the effort to organise an appointment with Mr Rosel.
- Consider a work placement in your term holidays.
- Attend Careers Expos and University and TAFE Open Days.
